How would you feel if someone preparing your food had a dip in?

I work at a restaurant as a cook and every few nights if I bring a can I will throw one in. How would you feel if you knew your cook had a dip in? I usually have it concealed around the waitresses because I know they would probably say it's gross and tell the boss. I will either gut it or spit into my coffee cup and wash my hands after throwing one in, it never comes in contact with the air.
