The Division op success + a few notes from a solo player

Community

To start with, I'm a PC player and I got my closed beta key on Sunday and was only able to paly for about 13 hours initially, which I really enjoyed. I preordered my copy from Gamesplanet last week, and I got to spend most of this weekend playing the open beta, and I'm happy to say I don't regret my decision one bit! This game is gonna be a blast.

I always tend to play solo and I decided to go with the assault rifle/marksman rifle combo this time around, initially using the Classic AK-47 and the M44 before finally settling for the Classic M1A. As a solo player, I have to say the M1A is pretty damn effective! Plus I equipped the Heavy Magazine Spring which increases the rate of fire per minute. With this, I could take 2 headshots in a second when my mouse hand was stable (sometimes, I click too hard in the heat of the moment). I managed to win quite a number 1v2 battles against rogue players as well as 2v4 or 2v5 in a couple of random encounters. Was also able to take out a couple of DZ checkpoint campers.

I honestly don't get all the complaints about going into the Dark Zone solo. Sure, it's difficult, and it took me a bit longer to get up to max level and have enough DZ funds to finally purchase the Liberator, but that's just how it is. If you're fighting an uphill battle and you get killed, try again, and keep trying, and you will prevail at some point, or other players will come to help (if fighting rogues). There's alway this sense of satisfaction when you win against all odds.

A few bugs I noticed:

  • In the Madison Field Hospital mission, Hutch respawned as after I killed him from range using the M44. That's not supposed to happen.
  • I got trapped in final area of the side mission where you have to rescue a JTF officer. My connection dropped and I couldn't get out because the gate could not be opened.
  • Not sure if this is a bug or a skill (or hacks), but my HUD got very scrambled with none of my skills working in a couple of encounters in the Dark Zone. No idea if anyone else has experienced this.

All in all, I'm completely sold and I will be putting a lot of hours into the Division come March 8th, with most of them in the Dark Zone!

TL;DR: The game is fucking great. Buy it!
