Nomiku Wifi Initial Impressions
Hey all, I haven't heard too much chatter about this device and I know a lot of people are quite upset with the delays and rather slow output of devices. I thought I would at least write a quick initial impression of the device, with a more detailed review to follow in the coming days hopefully.
Exterior:
+Water level max and min fill lines are much farther apart, this one of my biggest complaints about the original nomiku
+Larger screen
+Adjustment knob feels much better than nomiku v1
+No external power brick to worry about
-Device is slightly more plasticy than before with the pump and heater being encased in plastic
Operation
+Device is much quieter than nomiku V1, it is actually quite a large difference
+Wifi seems to work well, setup with relative ease and had push notifications on chrome
+Countdown/up timer on device is a big help with most cooks
-The app and website could be built a bit nicer for ease in use and operation, something just doesn't feel super smooth about it.
Comments:
I have only used it for one cook so far, although I mean its a water circulator not too much has changed in the general operation, seems to heat up at least as fast as the original nomiku although again I will perform more tests when I have time.
The app and website do not have the same level of polish nor is it as intuitive as their anova counterpart, I have been told this is expected to change in the coming months and by no means is it bad, its just a less commercial style seeing as the recipes are crowdsourced and whatnot.
Overall I am very happy with my Nomiku, I know many backers and customers are anxiously awaiting theirs and there has been many delays but the device really is great.
Final note:
Nomiku did not ask nor pay me to post this review, I just noticed a large lack of info or reviews on the device.
