All cultures have some way of practicing very strict religious training.

Zen - Sesshin

Theravada - Rains Retreat/Observance Days

Catholicism - Divine office/Liturgy of the hours/Opening prayer

Native American - Vision Quest.

I was wondering if we could detail all the practices of all the cultures throughout time and provide a basic description of the methods and practice.
