Help me make my studio match?!

I will be moving into this tiny studio (yay overpriced Manhattan real estate!) very soon and am completely dumbstruck about how to decorate!

I would like to include a full/queen bed (most likely in upper right corner), Television, coffee table, and futon or small convertible sofa (most likely lower right corner), counter-height kitchen table, and possibly include a desk somewhere if I can find the room. My biggest concern is, since this is a studio, will it clash if I do not make everything match relatively with the kitchen?

I love decorating with beach light Aqua, blues, and yellows, but I worry about this clashing next to my black and cherry wood kitchen! I also plan on using a lot of mirrors to make the place seem bigger. I plan on buying most of my furniture on Overstock.com

I am open to any color scheme suggestions etc as I am so lost as to how to decorate and make the apartment not clash since it is one big space!

EDIT: I prefer using light colors in decorating and love having a light colored earthy Beachy toned space, but I worry with the dark kitchen that this is not possible
