Does anyone have tips to beat manus solo?

I've tried 30-50 times to beat him and literally the most frustrating boss since O+S. I never even get him to his magic stage and I've wasted 10 humanity summoning sif but he never seems to do anything useful. I'm a melee class and dodging only seems to work half the time. It makes no sense and I have literally thrown my controller out of anger. I just want to beat him and move on.
