What's the deal with Danilo Gallinari?

I want some insight from people who watch the Nuggets or follow stats more closely. I feel like he should be a sought after and talked about player at 6'10" with a good three-pointer and the ability to create shots off the dribble. Am I missing something? Is he on the wrong team or not be used correctly or just already at his ceiling?
