Suggestion for modern roguelikes: WASD-QEZC control scheme

I had a hard time getting into roguelikes. I couldn't STAND using the numpad for movement, it felt so alien to me, I always control that with my left hand in just about every game I play. I would go to great lengths to rebind things... WASD for the cardinal directions, QEZC for diagonals, and X for auto-explore.

I eventually did have to migrate to numpad as I got more interested in the genre, but I still wish I didn't have to. I also had to make Numpad-5 do the same thing as Numpad-2 so I won't accidentally wait a turn instead of moving downwards.

I know I would've gotten into the genre much quicker had more games had this WASD-QEZC control scheme available from the getgo, perhaps as an 'alternate' scheme, so that would be my suggestion to developers. Hopefully this was useful to someone.
