Hard drive enclosure recommendations for transferring data to new MacBook Pro
First off I am not very computer savvy so please excuse my ignorance.
I managed to remove my hard drive from my first gen MacBook Pro whose screen gave out on me recently and was basically just falling apart. I have a newer MBP and I want to transfer a lot of pictures and music from the old drive onto my new Mac as well as some onto a 1TB external drive I have.
I would like to be able to order from Amazon if possible and maybe instead of the USB 3.0 I have seen get one that is FireWire compatible if there are any reliablity/speed advantages to that (I have a FireWire 800 cable already from Amazon). I am trying to stay away from the cheaper enclosures I have read reviews about that mention people losing all of their data because of bad contact points within the enclosure. Thanks in advance!
