[Help] Installing linuxbrew on a chromebook
good evening guys
So i was trying to install linuxbrew on my chromebook following this tutorial but just like last time i tried (3 months ago or so) it fails, but fails in a different place.
I am on the "Our very own toolchain" part. more precisely i am trying to install binutils that refuses to finish, i have waited for the install to finish for more than 20mins (and god damn is it supposed to take 20+ mins to install binutils?) but it just doesn't install, so I went ahead and did -v install and it gets stuck at something /bin/strip
when i just run: brew install diffutils binutils
homebrew/dupes/diffutils-3.3 already installed ==> Downloading https://linuxbrew.bintray.com/bottles/binutils-2.51.1.x86_ Already downloaded : /home/chronos/user/.cache/Homebrew/binutils-2.25.1.x86_64_linux.bottle.tar.gz ==> Pouring binutils-2.25.1.x86_x64_linux.bottle.tar.gz
and nothing happens
it gets stuck like this, no errors nothing.
If I run with the -v argument brew install diffutils binutils -v
it gets stuck over here:
/usr/local/linuxbrew/Cellar/patchelf/0.8/bin/patchelf --set-rpath /usr/local/linuxbrew/lib --set-interpreter /lib64/ld-linux-x86-64.so.2 /usr/local/linuxbrew/Cellar/binutils/2.25.1/x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu/bin/strip
I just can't get this to work no matter how many times i try, a google search yields nothing.
So if anyone has any idea?
