What would have been the best play?

Discussion

I had an incredibly awkward start in an arena match, my shaman vs opponent paladin. What would have been the optimal play here?

Opponent plays turn 1 Dragon egg. I have: Knife Juggler, Mad Bomber, Razorfen Hunter, Imp master, coin and Kvaldir Raider.

Pretty much every play I could think of is bad. Coin+Bomber may fail horribly due to 3 pings. Coin+Knife Juggler may be good, but the follow up is either Mad Bomber (again, a problem) or a totem (slow play, forces knife juggler to attack the egg).

I ended up doing a very passive pass+juggler, which was followed by opponent silver hand recruit + coghammer. In hindsight, either coin play would have been preferable. I lost the game due to this horrible momentum starting from turn 1. What would have been the best play?

Edit: wrote imp gang boss instead of imp master.

I would probably coin Juggler then next turn hit the egg and Bomber.

Thanks, this seems to be the sensible play.

coin knife into bomber, sometimes games are largely decided by bomber luck on hitting minions. In this case your "luck" here would be bomber missing minions. Also knife missing as well. even if knife hits, bomber may hit the spawned minion as well.

Great, thanks for the insight!

Coin Juggler > Bomber or Pass > Coin Imp Gang Boss seem perfectly reasonable. I would perhaps favor the latter.

Whoops sorry, I wrote imp gang boss instead of imp master. Playing shaman after all. Coin+Imp gang boss would've been my preferred play too.
