24/02/16 Syria Brief

Gains and losses of government forces, militias and rebels.

Latakia

Government forces managed to capture four different areas along the Kinsabba frontline, further expanding their buffer zone around the village. They thus have increased their control over the M4 highway from Jisr-Al-Shughur.

Aleppo

After government forces lost Khanaser among other points in southern Aleppo due to a surprise offensive led by daesh, effectively removing their only supply line to Aleppo, they managed to counter-attack. The government forces have recaptured Rasm An Affel, this makes resupplying the offensive by daesh harder since it almost compltely removes the control they had over the crossing. Khanaser has been reached but not recaptured, as government forces are currently on the outskirts of the town.
