Bristol to Gloucester

Hi guys,

I've been offered a job in Gloucester that I really want to take but i can't drive and can't move there. I don't mind the train too much as I used to do a long commute and managed fine. My only concern is that it will be too packed/unreliable in terms of getting home. I'd be getting the commuter train to Gloucester (arriving 8.35) and then getting the 17.40 train back to Bristol. Anyone have experience of these commuter trains? I'm hoping to be able to regularly get a seat so I can't do some work.

Thanks for any help
