2004 f150 aux input question

I have an 04 f150 lariat with the factory stereo system which has an "aux" button. When I press it the screen says something along the lines of "no auxiliary audio". What I'm wondering is whether or not the stereo has the ability to hook an aux cable into the back and play my phone or if that only available in other models? If not, what is that button for?
