Is there something to correct light?

Its a weird question but I have a weird problem. Not even sure what.

I bought Snowfall and for the first time I enjoyed the night time. Didnt have to use Time Warp to go back to day. Night was nice, I could also build at night, everything was great.

Then I go back to normal maps and again the night is annoying. Actually the day is also ugly, industrial areas are ugly (and yes I tried to use Daylight Classic and other fog correction mod).

I think in Snowfall the fact that the ground is white helps a lot with the light. The light from buildings and streets reflect more. It really looks awesome. Is there anyway I can have that in normal maps?
