Can Motorola notice if the display assembly has been changed?

Hey, I'm currently in an extremely painful process of seeing if I can have my phone fixed by Motorola, and I was wondering if they were able to know if I had the display changed. I just wonder if I've been without my phone for pretty much an entire month for absolutely no reason, or if there's atleast a slight chance they'll repair it.
