What do I need to display topology?

Looking at upgrading switches at our corporate offices and looking at MS220 and MS320 series. I know those include the ability to do a topology. Does that just require a switch that supports LLDP? If I just have the MX84 and some Cisco SG500s that support LLDP, will I get topology? I know I won't have all the fanciness that comes with the Meraki switches, but having some 'port awareness' is always nice!

I have to give the boss (and finance!) a good/better/best option on this switch project. We need like 400 ports...... Don't have to sell me on the management, I am WELL aware. :)
