Military to Civilian

How many of you have started out your IT career in the military and then transitioned into a civilian IT job? Did you feel like managing a base network prepared you to work for civilian companies? Any tips you can provide now looking back at it? Would love to hear your stories.

Currently I’m a Network Admin (3DOX2) in the Air Force and will be getting out in a year or so. Have a TS, Sec +, and hope to obtain my CISSP before getting out.
