TNG Blue-ray: PAL or NTSC?

It's time for me to buy the Blue-ray boxset, but it's brought into sharp relief a technological question that's bothered me for a while, and I thought you fellow nerds would enjoy solving it: PAL or NTSC?

In the days of SD, PAL was the clear winner (for me), with considerably more lines available for a crisper image and the standard having more true-to-life colours, at the cost of being 5fps slower. (The only big downside was in gaming; even as late as the first Halo coming out, games ran shoddily in the UK if not properly compiled to run at 50hz.)

But now we're in the HD era, what wins? If everything is presented at 1080p, are the PAL nd NTSC standards visually identical or does NTSC win because it's 30fps? Is PAL even still confined to 25fps in the HD standard, or is everything just a wrapper for an identical AVI nowadays?

I care about Star Trek enough that it's the first piece of media to make me question the codec I own it in...

Edit: Made clearer
