Cybersecurity and Technology Symposiums
There seems to be quite a few security and technology discussions this month at UTSA and I wanted to make anything interested in them aware of when and where they are. There have been a few flyers in the North Paseo Building for a point-of-sale malware demonstration by Michael Sikorski called "Want to Swipe Your Card? Think Again." It is at the HUC in room 2.212 at 11:30am.
On March 17th, the HUC Ballroom with host the Insider Threat Symposium and Expo by the National Insider Threat Special Interest Group. The main topic appears to be setting up insider threat programs and the challenges faced by such programs and those wanting to get one going. Student tickets to this event are $20.00, Gov't Employees are $25.00 and Industry folks are $35.00.
At the end of March on the 30th and 31st is the UTSA Big Data and Data Analytics Conference in the HUC Ballroom. A multitude of topics will be covered, including security. Here is an agenda of the topics covered. Faculty members or employees of the UT and military personnel will get in for $25. For all others, it will be $150.
