A possible fix to torp walls
Hey guys, just kinda spitballing some ideas here. Today iChase uploaded a video wherein he was terrorized by torps for almost all of a tier 10 match. I have also noticed the "torp wall" phenomenon currently going on in high tier matches. It got me thinking, how do we fix it? Well, we are currently limited in our usage of things like heals, hydroacoustics, and spotters. The way I see it, why don't we also limit the amount of torpedo spreads a destroyer can put out? Think about it. This game is a game of skill. By limiting the amount of torpedo spreads a destroyer can put out, DD skippers will have to be much more careful about when they fire their spreads. Right now, I feel there is too much "spray and pray" with torpedoes and not precise calculated strikes like the should be I.e. Getting a torpedo hit has too much luck involved right now. In the current system, a DD throws as many torps out as possible and looks for hits. Yes, I know that there is more to it than that, but this is essentially the meta. Your torp range out ranges detection and you look for the person paying the least attention. Right now, DDs have a very strong hand in how a game is determined. By limiting the amount of torpedo salvoes which, DDs have to be more aggressive and careful with their torps and everyone has to deal with less torps. Naturally, cruisers with torpedoes would also be limited, more so than their destroyer counterparts. I don't want this to be a flame war, it's just an idea I have which I think would make the game a little more enjoyable for those who don't play DDs.
