helping a friend with malware and i have some questions

my friend is bringing is pc which has an absurd amount of malware on it over to my place so i can fix it. i'm just going to download malwarebytes chameleon and hope that works lmao. but for real is there anything i need to worry about? i'm going to have to connect it to my wifi to download it, can the infected pc somehow harm my pc? thanks
