Invokana for insulin resistance?

So, after my insurance company decided that Xigduo is no longer a preferred brand, my endo switched me to Invokamet. Basically the same thing, metformin + another drug, except Xigduo is extended release. And I had diarrhea and bloating and gas and cramps every day since starting Invokamet.

Spoke to the endo (well, her triage nurse) on the phone, was told to stop taking the Invokamet. Got a call back today and was told they'd like to try me on just Invokana (the non-metformin drug that's part of Invokamet.) I'm not actually full on type 2 diabetic, but I'm insulin resistant and prediabetic. And I also FINALLY got told to start tracking glucose... they never said to do that before. The nurse I talked to on the phone was actually surprised to hear that I hadn't tracked.... so I guess I get to learn how to prick myself too. Makes sense since my next full labs aren't till April and we need some other way to find out if the Invokana actually works.

Anyone had success with this?
