My Night at the CBJ vs Red Wings Game
This was my first time watching CBJ in person and I don't know who else to tell about my experience so I figured you guys might be the ones who would actually care. Anyways, let's get going. I'll start off by saying that although my little brother and I don't have perfect vision we were definitely seeing 20/20 that night. So here we are at around 6:30pm, maneuvering around the Joe, trying to get to our seats. At this point, those of you with keener eyes may be asking from the first photo, "What were you taking into the arena rjw99?" and I'll tell you! Say hello to my giant coach Tort cutout! (I made this baby with the help of a giant school printer and pulling some strings with friends I know... thanks for the idea guys). Needless to say, it got a good amount of laughs from everyone. Fast forward to the middle of the first period and a pizza toss comes to my section. I don't know what crazy amount of spin this guy put into this toss or if I recently became a user of the force, but somehow, the box gets in my hands! Shortly after, Boone Jenner drives a puck into the net to close up the first period. At this point, I'm convinced that I'm the happiest person in the arena. We're beating the wings, I got pizza, and these seats are awesome... but it gets better. I go to concessions to buy myself a coke (to wash down the pizza, of course) and guess who introduces herself to me. Got you're guesses in? Well it's none other than Boone Jenner's mom. She's a super nice person... so nice that she got me to meet her son after the game! Here's me with Boone Jenner (He's not that much taller than me. I'm standing on the step below him). Little did I know that the rest of the players come out to see their family at this time too! So next I got to meet our captain, Nick Foligno! I was smiling so hard now that my cheeks were starting to hurt guys, but then this happens... the one and only Brandon Saad walks out. I'm just star struck. He takes a photo with me and even signed my jersey and hat. I can say that without a doubt in my mind that I was the happiest person in the world now. So even though the outcome of the game wasn't what I had wanted, it was still something amazing to be a part of. I can guarantee that I had a better time than any wing fan in the building, and to me, that's all that really mattered. Thanks for reading guys. GO JACKETS!
