[5e][Theorycrafting] Monk needing a Monastic Tradition

Hello r/dnd Community! First time poster here!

So my friends and I are starting up a 5e DND campaign and I've been wanting to try out monk. I like to add a bit of humor to my characters, however, so I decided I would make him a monk of The Moan-astery in Beaford and he is on a pilgrimage to bring in more followers. =D

My question/request for you guys is to think up a monastic tradition to go along with the character (I'm not too good at making a balanced class feature). Any ideas? Also, any names, bios, or anything else you guys throw out will be considered.

Thanks for the help!
