Would you pay $18 for a Colourpop or Makeup Geek eyeshadow single? Are they good or "good for the price"

Are these two brands good or "good for the price"?

I've been super interested in these two brands but I don't trust overhyped products that are only sold online. I know this sub loves Colourpop and Makeup Geek so hopefully enough of you have tried their products to shed some light!

I'd say $18 is average mid-range price for a single eyeshadow.

Which is true for you? Would the product itself be worth the hype if it was the same cost as a Sephora brand eyeshadow? How do the actual formulas compare?
