Is Cohort any good in Standard?

I am building a B/W/r Life Gain Deck for the Grand Prix this weekend and wanted to field opinions concerning Cohort: Is Cohort a competitive strategy in Standard or is the tapping of two of your creatures too detrimental to be competitive? I look forward to hearing what others have to say on the matter.
