Discussion: Asiatic Hordes, etc.
There's a lot on this sub about asiatic hordes, and I'm trying to document all the reasons it is a flawed way of thought.
-
Implies German vehicles, soldiers, etc. were unmatched in quality.
-
Asserts that Soviet tactics were primitive or needlessly expended their soldiers, a la Enemy at the Gates
-
Wehraboos are too quick to resort to reductionism to say, game mechanics. For example, comparing WWII to Starcraft and Zerg rushes. I'm sure this happens, at least on a subconscious level.

Similar ideas cropped up during the Korean war, since people complained about the Chinese using "human wave attacks," leading American servicemen to joke:
How many hordes are in a Chinese platoon?
When in fact they were using better tactics than "throw ourselves at their camp until they run out of bullets," a picture that is also painted by wehraboos.
Any other ideas?
