Yesterday I was let go from my job, and I feel fine mainly due to FI

26M, no kids or significant other. Canadian.

It sucks, but life goes on. Doing all the paperwork in regards to getting employment insurance, but I have a strange calm about the whole situation.

Had this happened a couple of years ago when I was not practicing FI principles, I would have been freaking out. Now? Whatever, I got plenty of money in the bank. TFSA and RRSP are maxed out, will be getting my tax return back shortly here.

I don't need to jump into looking for a new job right away. Right now, I'm connecting with mentors and friends about the future. I've thought about starting a business. I've thought about travelling for a bit.

I'm fortunate to have encountered the principles of FI. Scaling back even more should not be an issue, and I'm not scrambling out of desperation to make cash due to having a nice emergency fund and plenty in the bank.

Just wanted to share with you guys.
