Is there any way to reduce save file size via in-game actions?
I play on PS4 and recently the game started preventing me from saving. Said I had reached the limit. At the time I had the quick and autosaves plus five hardsaves. So I deleted all autosaves and two of the hardsaves, and the next time the game tried to autosave it said it again. So I looked at my most recent quicksave and noticed for the first time that it was 241 MB. The last time I paid any attention I think I it was somewhere in the teens.
I'm level 235 and have maxed out all factions' questlines up to the point of no return. Completed most side quests. Have 13 settlements built up. Exceeded the build limit on all, but never by more than around a half bar. I assume it was the settlements that bloated my save file.
My question is does anyone know if I tear down some or most of my settlements will it reduce my save file size?
I've had to shut off all autosaves and now only have the quicksave and two hardsaves. I haven't noticed performance issues with the game, but it seems my settlements have glitched in that they don't add new settlers and I can't assign or move the settlers that are there. Also, nothing gets deposited in the workbenches, like water and food, anymore. Completely stopped at all settlements.
I'd appreciate any advice if anyone has experienced this.
