Is KingRoot a safe method to use for rooting a phone?

I have an LG Sunset (Model L33G) running Lolipop 5.0.1, and I was wondering if KingRoot is a safe method to root this device, since I heard that it has logging applications bundled with the root itself. I do not want to end up getting my information taken by someone, if what other people are saying is correct.

Edit: Also, I also would like to know if the root can access any of your private files on your device. It is kind of a odd question considering the type of application I am trying to install is root, but I want to be as cautious as possible before and while I am installing the root on to my phone.
