[NA][PvP] [Luciform] Experienced/Organized/Serious
Website: Luciform.net
Short About Us
Luciform is an experienced, serious, organized, and efficient PvP-focused guild reformed after a long break for the NA launch of Black Desert. Originally, the guild was formed for the CBT and launch of TERA, where we had tons of success in early PvP and GvG. After, we were a founding guild in the very successful Titan Alliance on GW2's Henge of Denravi server. Past this, most of the guild joined <Condemned>, where we were the first guild invited to alpha test and give feedback for Wildstar's PvE Raiding and PvP content. Now, we are reformed from our old core of crucial members and more, whose backgrounds also include competitive fighting to competitive FPS experience and other games outside the MMO genre. Having quite a bit of experience as individual players and as a community, we plan to use this and more to excel in Black Desert. Although both our individual members and guild have a history of performing very well, we also have an extremely unique community atmosphere and focus on enjoyment. We are EST-NA based but have occasionally picked up players from various other places, including Europe and Asia. We are quite excited for organized PvP on multiple scales, from small roaming groups to larger GvG and castle combat. Our members are encouraged to constantly attempt to grow and improve in performance, yet also to not burn out on the game. We play hard, well, and efficiently. Quite a few of us get a kick out of making people mad, resulting in lots of hilarious media content and in-guild memes. If you'd like a more detailed history of our guild or any other information (including questions, comments, or concerns of any kind), feel free to reach out to us here, on our website, on our TS3, or in-game.
What We Want
Luciform looks for highly skilled yet committed gamers that want to add to our guild and community as a whole, both in-game and out. We look for: players that can play with and as a team, small or large; people that can follow directions in and out of game; gamers that define and push the boundaries of performance, skill, and efficiency; and finally, individuals that can communicate well (in English) in a multitude of situations. If this peaks your interest, consider reading more and applying at Luciform.net!
Rules
We take our rules seriously, but our rules themselves are not particularly serious. We are not averse to our members having a good time as long as their actions do not interfere with or harm the guild as a whole; that said, having thick skin and a sense of humor is encouraged (if not required), as it helps ease tensions and cool tempers. If you are not someone who enjoys a good joke then apply at your own risk, as even your application or interview would likely include at least one off-color joke from our (less than) upstanding members.
Absolutely no cheating or exploiting. If you are caught cheating or abusing an exploit, you will get kicked from the guild. This includes indirectly benefiting from a cheat or exploit, as in if someone else does it but you are knowingly gaining because of it. If something will get you banned from the game, it will most likely also get you banned from the guild. Just don't do it.
No actual drama inside (member-member) or outside (member-nonmember) the guild. I understand people do not always get along, but if personal stuff turns into an identifiable issue, we'll cut you out like a tumor. Please act like a semi-functioning and mature adult that can be around people you both like and dislike with no issue. You need to have tough skin here and we will tolerate a lot, but if you start straddling the line, we'll let you know; if you begin to cause headaches and issues, you'll be quickly warned, then kicked.
Always try to improve, regardless of how good you (or others) think you are. While our guild is typically considered “hardcore,” that does not give people permission to act like stereotypical “elitists.” Try to help people improve over being too good to help. Seriously, we want a skilled and long-lasting in-guild community rather than a collection of varied yet stagnant assholes. Prioritize the guild over individuals. Please realize that there will be times we do things and make decisions for the benefit of the whole, not the benefit of one person or a small group. We are here to be a successful community, and if you try to start a shit storm every time we want to do something as a group (especially if it isn't 110% in your benefit or desire), we'll just find someone else. Simply keep in mind that you are here to be part of a skilled, efficient, and constantly-improving machine, not a one-man army. Communicate by voice (TS3) and on the forums. We will require constant use of both, especially voice, once the game launches and you are in-game; at the same time, we recommend being active on both our website and TS3 to get to know each other. If you have issues, you need to communicate instead of just brooding over it or talking behind backs.
Schedule and Attendance
Our base schedule is tentatively set at M-Th ~8-12 PM EST, though specific days and times may be added or subtracted as needed (Ex: added for intense PvP or guild wars, subtracted for initial leveling on launch or holidays). You should ideally be able to play somewhere around this, though schedule flexibility is always a bonus. We usually have a decent group that plays quite a lot on the weekends, though this is by no means mandatory. Smaller groups within the guild can set their own “event” times if they want to do something on specific days and times, as long as they do not interfere with already-set guild events.
In the past, we had mandatory attendance percentages based on specific days and times. Instead of that, we will now be using a system that is not mandatory; set days and times (our “schedule”) will exist where stuff will be organized and done as a guild, just like if the attendance were mandatory. You will not be required to maintain a certain percentage, though we will take note of individual activity. As such, we will have a wide variety of people playing anything from a handful of hours a week to the typical playing everything but a handful of hours a week. For newer players joining the guild, we will focus on recruits capable of playing and making more time rather than less. I don't want to fill the guild with a bunch of new people that play 10 hours a week. While this may seem a bit lax, please note that many of our members play quite hard (this is not, by any means, a “casual” guild).
Recruitment
Regardless of our listed recruitment needs, we will always consider exceptional applications. If you feel you really want to join us, show it by taking the time and effort to put in a serious application. We have always been selective with our recruitment, preferring a smaller skilled and organized group to mindlessly accepting any application like some other guilds.
Our recruitment process is quite simple. First, you apply via our written application, which can be found under the “Apply” tab on our website. Please select the correct application, which depends on whether you have an in-guild reference to personally vouch for you or not. After applying, give us a short amount of time to read, review, and comment on your application. Keep an eye on it because we will often ask questions and will not proceed unless you respond. If everything looks good, we will move to a TS3 interview at a set date and time which will be communicated through the application comments, where we will ask further questions and finally decide to accept you as a recruit or deny your application. Once you have been in the guild for a set period of time (2-4 weeks), we will decide to promote you to member or remove you. During all of this, members will be able to comment about you via application and in a special forum thread that you will not see. As previously stated, If you'd like any other information (including questions, comments, or concerns of any kind), feel free to reach out to us here, on our website (Luciform.net), on our TS3, or in-game. Thanks!
