fire engines on lawrie st / gardner st

anyone know what the fuck happened here?

about half 12 i hear this bang and two minutes later a fire engine's padded up and is scooshing water everywhere. look out the window and see smoke.

i jump down to have a peek and see the window of the downstair flat on the corner all blown out and charred. firemen still scooshing away.

this flat always looked a bit dodgy. curtains always drawn, windows open. fragrant smells and interesting music being played... related?
