[NEWS] Australian Delegates Travel to New Zealand
CANBERRA, AUSTRALIA - With the announcement of the International Oceanic Union, Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull has ordered delegates from Australian government to meet with New Zealand representatives to hash out detailed terms. Citing the failure of international markets, specifically due to European stability, the International Oceanic Union's immediate aim is to re-orient the 12% of NZ exports to Europe towards markets in Australia in an effort to counteract the rippling effects of the crisis that are sure to follow the collapse of the EU.
"We must look to encourage bilateral trade between our markets," Prime Minister Turnbull is quoted to have said, "and as the economic engine of Oceania, Australia is ever-committed towards the prosperity of her neighbour."
Additionally, by linking currencies, experts believe that Australia's mining sector exports to Asian markets will prop up the New Zealand economy as international markets collapse.
