2011 GTI Tire Pressure Code

Edit: Thanks guys. I'll just let the dealership handle it. It's a new purchase so they're still fully responsible and it doesn't seem like it will be as quick a fix as I had hoped.

Update: Dealer ordered a new tire pressure sensor. It's on the axle; not each individual wheel. It's not receiving power for some reason and the fuses were all fine.

Hi there. I picked up a used 2011 GTI and, worst case, I can take it back to the dealer and have him deal with it. However, I have an OBDII cable coming in the mail.

I know I'll be able to reset the code. However, I know Ross-Tech's VCDS software would allow me to manually check and make sure the ECU is looking for the appropriate PSI. I saw somewhere that there's a problem where it starts looking for 5.5 instead of 2.6 and, using the software, I can reset that. My main concern is that ABS seems to be disabled until I fix the error.

Will I be able to check this on my own using a basic OBDII cable off of Amazon? Do I need to drop the $300 and get something specifically from Ross-Tech? Is there something else I can do?

Again, worst case I'll bring it back to the dealer next week. This seems like it could be an easy fix, though.

Thanks!
