XCOM 2 Mods VERY unstable

I don't know how to handle my mods on my Macbook Pro. I just lost a campaign because of these glitches that happen. The launcher always crashes as soon as I reach the mod loader. Sometimes I'll be able to load up my mods fine, but when I try the same thing again a few minutes later, it will crash while using the exact same settings. What exactly is causing these problems, and why is it so fickle when nothing's changed?
