Why I'm glad standard is going to be a thing.

Discussion

I was playing an unusual deck, mech warlock. I was absolutely smearing the floor with a secret paladin who had the best possible curve for his deck type. I even successfully handled his MC with a fel cannon to proc his noble sac and soul siphon on his MC. Fel cannon passive cleared his resurrected noble sac. So far so good, him at 9 hp and me at 30. Here comes turn 7, we both have no board so I drop a mech warper and cog master. He then drops Dr. Boom. I had no direct answer to his boom without a bgh and he then clears my board and then summons tirion the next turn. Gg, even though I flawlessly handled his OP 6 drop.

Not playing a meta deck makes me remember how helpless a player feels when Dr. 7 is dropped.

Tl;dr I'm happy that standard is going to be a thing because no more doctor boom.
