Resumé Question

I just visited a marketing career night at my college, and alot of the applicants had colorful resumé's with icons and the like. I was wondering, if I have a background in design and want to go into the business of advertising, but want to aid in the creative process (I'm a minor in Film as well with a co-concentration of Operations) should I completely redo my resume and make it more design oriented?
