How in the hell do you gank as Shyvana?

Just a preface to say that I love Shyvana and farming style to get to mid/late game where you are tanky af while dishing out too much damage. My one problem with her however is ganking/engaging. While I try to farm to level 6 and then gank sometimes my lanes need an early one (and even after 6 her ult engage is pretty buggy, the frame of her champ doesn't match her model, so 50% you don't push anyone, and when you do it's a lackluster poppy E). Usually if I clear pretty quickly I'll cheese a level 2 gank on mid, however most of the time they have an escape. I feel like I can't do anything while ganking if my team doesn't have a morgana mid or a nautilus top. Any suggestions on how to gank and not get kited to hell and back while also not being able to catch up to them?
