What synergy exists with Undying and Pugna?

I can see dota picker and becomethegamer showing Pugna as having the highest synergy with Undying but I'm not seeing it, wouldn't decrep remove tombstone damage and there's better nukes than soul rip to use in that instance, plus there's almost no lockdown, just stacking slows...
