Looking for Fantasy or Sci-fi which includes a romance, "magic" use or LGBT themes a +

the term magic is pretty lose generally anything where a character has "powers" or similar things are used.

Romance doesn't have to be heavy or central. A series which introduces a relationship later in the volumes is alright too.

Works I've previously really enjoyed are Alien Blood (Joan D. Vinge), Anything by the author Mercedies Lackey or Diana Wynne Jones, I've enjoyed a few things from Holly Black, Luck in the Shadows (Lynn Flewelling),

I'm not terribly into the YA genre but I'm willing to dip into it if it seems like a valid recommendation.
