P073F Help...

My car (2013 Passion Cabriolet) acted strange the other day. I got the double wrenches (strange, as the next service is not due for another 8200 miles) and a check engine light. The code was P073F (unable to engage first gear). The problem is, when the C/E light came on, I had just started the car a couple of minutes before and had not yet shifted from park (so it wasn't ASKED to shift into first gear). I am unable to clear the code.

1. Should I worry?

2. Should I visit a smart Center? (Ack! The nearest one is 229 MILES AWAY!)

I am a mechanic, so I can perform any checks/repairs myself. Just need some knowledge/insight if it's out there...
