Keto and Topamax and slight vent
I'm on a medication that specifically warns against being on LCHF diets (Topamax). Since I started it I went back to just calorie counting and guess what? weight loss stopped even though this med was supposed to "help with weight loss".
Does anyone have experience on this? I'm back up to 262, i'm 5'2, I have a family event march 26th and I am getting sick and tired of this weight. I am joining a gym once our tax return finally comes in (and will go religiously 5 days a week when my husband gets home from work and can watch the kid), but please help, anecdotes, articles, advice, cheering on lol, anything, because keto has been the ONLY thing that has ever worked for me.
But, the doctors who do not know me... decided that my binge eating disorder (actually i'm technically non-purging bulimic, I'll binge, and then fast for 24 hrs... but since i'm fat the fact i'm fasting no one seems to notice nor care ) I needed this drug. I'm willing to take it since it helps migraines but I want to stay on keto.
I'll say this now, as for the fasting KETO WAS WORKING!! as well as eating on a schedule, honestly I think mentioning it was a mistake, even though that detail seemed to be ignored by the professionals.
I was also put on 2 other meds that both oh yea, increase weight... so the fact i'm stabilizing at my starting weight is a miracle in itself (guess the counting is kinda working) but yeeh this is hell.
So, any advice for ketoing while medicated? (and possibly working out though I may hit some fitness subreddits in the future like once I actually join the gym)
