My dad has stolen $3,500 from me. What do I need to do?

I [19f] took out student loans (from Alabama) under the guidance of my father (the loans are all in my name) for school. He always told me to take out more than I needed just in case and he would take the difference and pay back on the loan. Well he and my mom just got a divorce and he is now estranged from me so I thought I would check on my loans. Well he hasn't been paying on them like he said and $3,500 is missing. How do I go about doing this? I was a minor when all this happened. I want that money back to pay on my loan. Please help.
