[Claim] The Monastic Order of Erstwhile

Name: Erstwhile Independent nation The government type is a monastic order, and they are devoted to Aska, the god of war. Their religious system is based upon an old Hellenic style, but was abandoned after the schism that fractured Erstwhile for the next 200 years. The schism was created when the scribes were in power and ruler over all others. They had small amounts of magic, but it was only used for research purposes. When they demanded higher and higher taxes, and their arrogance grew more and more, eventually coming to a head in a explosive riot. The old country split apart into thousands of states, each supporting a different god. Eventually the militaristic order of knights seized the capital and then spent the next 100 years rebuilding and reconquering the old land. They also bred magic back into the general populace, rebuilt the economy and got even more resources. Now the country is secure, with enforced military conscription and a powerful religious presence.
