How much of Trump's support on reddit (and the Internet in general) is ironic? Why does it also seem to be increasing all of the sudden?

I'm in mobile, and reddit has a terrible search feature so it's hard for me to do too much digging, but has anyone else noticed that the Donald Trump subreddit didn't start hitting the front page until national polls came out saying Bernie will do better than Hillary against him? I'm willing to admit this could be more a case of correlation but not causation, (the actual cause being the primaries) but both subs seem to share a virulent hatred for Hillary and a sort of apathetic view of the other GOP candidates.

I think we all know who the majority of reddit really support (Bernie) and Hillary seems to be the real major threat to his campaign, hence the very intense amount of posts constantly floating around the front page about how corrupt Hillary is, why she's satan and etc. I'm about to go full "tin foil hat", but could reddit's sudden and questionably ironic support of Trump be a strategy to increase Trumps ratings in order make Bernie a more necessary choice?
