How do I convert fractions to ratios?

I already know how to convert ratios to fractions, but for some reason I can't seem to do vice versa. Yahoo answers helped me the first time, but took an apparently incorrect approach for the latter (I somewhat suspected this anyway because it contradicted the advice that turned out to be right)

Help?
