Manster and Ostia look quite similar

General Spoiler

Fire Emblem: Thracia 776 ~ Chapter 6 - The Escape

Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade ~ Chapter 7 - The Ostian Revolt

I'm probably not the first to notice this, but when I played FE6 again, I noticed that the town in Ostia depicted in Chapter 7 of FE6 bears a striking resemblance to the town in Manster depicted in Chapter 6 of FE5. Certain features I noticed:

  • Four rows of houses split into groups on the eastern side, with other houses on the west; only a handful of which are available to visit. Also, there's a distinct gap between the eastern and western houses, though Ostia has an arena in the middle of that gap.

  • While Ostia spreads its shops out more, a majority of the shops are located on the eastern side.

  • The layouts of the walls are similar. In fact, there's a main gateway in front of the main entrance of the castle, with a smaller entrance to the town to the east which is in front of a smaller entrance of the castle. To top it off, the main southern exits of both towns are on the same line as their main entrances.

What do you guys think? Do you think they also look similar, and if so do you think the design was intentional or not? Otherwise, do you think I'm simply extrapolating too much?
