Any Arduino wielding Tasker-ers?

tl;dr - Can I get an Arduino to send Bluetooth messages to Tasker?

I've recently purchased an Arduino starter kit to take my tinkering into the physical world. Obviously I'd love to get Tasker involved, too. I have an old Nexus 7 I'd like to use as a hub, ideally using Bluetooth to send messages to and from Tasker and various Arduino creations. I'm finding lots of info online for how to send commands from Tasker to an Arduino but very little regarding how to trigger a Tasker task with a Bluetooth message sent from an Arduino. Most people seem to just use the internet, but I don't manage my own wifi so I'm not sure I could get an Arduino online and don't want to order the components if they won't work. Has anyone had any luck using Bluetooth? It seems like the better option, using the tablet to manage everything, including any possible future internet needs. If I can trigger Tasker, I can do pretty much anything.

I'm still mostly exploring my options at this point, working through beginners tutorials and that sort of thing. I'll probably order a second batch of components soon and would like to know what I'll need to start experimenting with communicating with Android. If you've got experience there let me know, but I'd love to here about anything you've done with an Arduino and Tasker!
