stealing other cultures things for my wedding?

My husband and I are both atheist, and our parents are as well (but both our families are Catholic) I always liked the Jewish breaking of glass and would like to do it. Either just me would do it or both of us would do it. Would it be stupid for me to want to smash glass even if i'm not of that religion? I like the symbolism of two souls becoming one
